Graduate of Acupuncture Colleges Australia and University of Technology Sydney (UTS). Advanced studies in acupuncture (Guangzhou TCM University, China) and Master of Science by field research, India (UTS). Clinical teachers over the years include Prof Chen, Prof Liu (Optimum Time for Acupuncture); herbal medicine studies with the late Peter Townsend and Prof Shan de Liu as well as other prominent teachers of specialty and micro systems from China, Japan, India, UK, USA. Extended periods of intense observation in South America with Jo鉶 Teixeira da Faria (John of God). Post graduate study includes certification in Dr Chen Cao抯 system of Ba Gua acupuncture, I Ching acupuncture and the Master Tong System of Acupuncture with Dr Robert Chu (Los Angeles). Parallel studies in the application of internal Chinese martial arts.
An initiate of AC Bhaktivedanta Swami since 1975, Mark has directed research throughout India in search of he lost secrets of Ayurvedic Acupuncture and marma chikitsa (Indian idden pressure points), utilizing over thirty years of Vedic science study, applied now in the pursuit of examining medical parallels between the classical cultures of India and China.
Mark favors the use of painless treatment and has adopted techniques from a number of schools of thought, including Japanese acupuncture (Ideka Sensei), the Five Element School (JR Worsley). He is influenced by the Shen Hammer system of pulse diagnosis and continues to assimilate and apply ongoing Neoclassical techniques of diagnosis and treatment.
In 2007, Mark was appointed an external advisor for the NHMRC (National Health and Medical Research Council) for CAM (Complimentary and Alternative Medicine) and currently continues clinical supervision and mentorship for brave students.
